These are the required steps for making use of the 4 Terminal Watertight Junction Box.
- Unscrew the 4 screw holding on the cover plate
- Cut the cable insulation back about one inch from the end of the wires
- Unscrew the cable retention nuts and all of the rubber bushings
- There are two sets of rubber bushings. Choose the rubber bushings that will fit the tightest around the cable you will be using
- slip the retention nuts over the ends of the cables
- slip the bushings over the cables, with the widest parts of the bushings facing the retention nuts
- Strip the insulation off of the wires that will be connecting to one of the four terminals
- Pass the wires through the side ports of the enclosure and connect them to the terminals that you've chosen
- Push the bushings into the ports on the side of the enclosure
- Tighten down the retention nuts onto the enclosure. This should squeeze the bushings into the cable insulation which will make a watertight seal.
- Screw the cover plate back on to the enclosure.
The enclosure should now be watertight and ready for mounting, which can be done via its two external screw holes.
